After a years-long battle with drug addiction and several stints in juvenile detention, this former amateur MMA champion fighter had a moment of clarity when he survived a near-fatal overdose. Today, Daniel is the doting father to his daughter and celebrating over seven years of sobriety. Known as the “Treatment Guy” in his midwestern community, Daniel is most proud of his work as a certified peer recovery supporter, through which he’s helped hundreds of people get into addiction recovery. Daniel’s true passion is boots on the ground work, and he is volunteering to go undercover for 60 days to meet people at their rock bottom, a place he knows well. Daniel lost almost everything to addiction, but the fighter in him prevailed.
